I was planning a birthday party for my daughter, who was turning sixteen and needed some suggestions. My friend found quite a few party accessories and supplies online for her daughters celebration. So, I figured I’d see what they have. It was surprising to find so many ideas for party supplies for the tables and little gifts. I ran across some pretty neat ideas for her birthday celebration. I was able to make cookies in the shape of the number 16 as one of the snacks for her party with the cookie cutters I ordered.

Since it was her birthday, I let her decide what she wanted and she decided to party at the roller rink and have her friends stay overnight. So I made the arrangements, and reserved tables with the roller rink in our neighborhood. I sent all of her girl friends special party invitations. It wasn’t nearly as expensive as I thought it would be. They had a great package deal for birthday parties, with pizza, hot dogs and refreshments. I got the house prepared for the party that was to continue after skating. I decorated the house with birthday accessories,laid out snacks and put my sweet 16 cookies, I made, on the tables.

The cookie cutters wasn’t the only thing I ordered online. Since this birthday party wasn’t costing me what I thought it would, I decided to order a few sweet sixteen favors for the girls. I found pink photo albums for the girls and gave each of them a disposable camera for party pictures. I gave them the cameras before we left for the roller rink, but they had no idea about the albums until later. Even though they took a lot of photos at the roller rink, they all saved some picture taking for the sleepover.

Another party favor was a cosmetic bag with their first initial printed on the front. Along with that I also bought compact mirrors and manicure sets that matched their bags. I bought festive little favor boxes and filled them with candies for each of the girls. As soon as we got home, we celebrated with a sweet sixteen favor with cake and ice cream and she opened all of her presents. So, with all the other snack foods, soft drinks and the chick flicks we picked up on the way home, they were a bunch of happy campers. They danced for a while, then they gave each other manicures with their new sets, and of course, they did the make up thing. They were having a lot of fun together.

When the noise starting dwindling down they got out the bowls of popcorn and started watching their movies. I tried to stay out of their way as much as possible and just let them have a good time, but they asked me if I wanted to watch a movie with them. That was such a nice thing to ask me to join them. They actually made it through the first two movies before they started nodded off, one by one. Soon, the only ones awake were me and my daughter, but she didn’t last much longer. Just before she closed her eyes, she let me know how much she appreciated her super birthday party.

They ate breakfast and cleaned up everything left from the birthday party before I even got out of bed. It was really sweet of the girls to do that. They hung around with my daughter for a couple of hours, then the kids started heading for home. As they were leaving, the girls thanked me for the wonderful time they had and all of the sweet 16 favors I bought for them. I like that my daughter and her friends now consider me to be a cool mom.

I talked to my daughter and got her views on what type of party she wanted to have, and she decided on a roller skating and slumber birthday party. I immediately got on the phone and reserved tables at the local roller rink. Next, came the invitations for all of her closest girl friends. It wasn’t nearly as expensive as I thought it would be. They offered pizza, hot dogs and soft drinks at a very reasonable price. I got the house prepared for the party that was to continue after skating. I put up decorations, fixed a table with a few goodies to snack on, along with the sweet 16 cookies I prepared earlier.

The cookie cutters wasn’t the only thing I ordered online. Since I saved money on the roller rink deal, I decided it would be nice to get the girls a few sweet sixteen favors. Each of the girls got a disposable camera to take pictures of this evenings event and a pink photo album to store them in. Everyone got a camera before we went to the roller rink party, but no one got an album until later that evening. I’m glad they only took a few pictures at the skating rink, so they would be able to take pictures of the sleepover too.

Each of the girls also received a very decorative favor box filled with candies. We left the rink and went home to have her sweet sixteen favor and watch her open her presents. There were plenty of snacks and drinks, girlie teen movies for them to watch, so they were good to go for the evening. They danced for a while, then they gave each other manicures with their new sets, and of course, they did the make up thing. You could tell they were all having a fantastic time.

After they tired themselves out, they decided to put on a movie and grab the popcorn. I wanted to give them as much space as I could and not intrude on their girl time, but I got an invitation to join them for a movie. It made me feel good that they wanted to include me. They were able to watch two of the movies we rented before eyes started closing. Soon, the only ones awake were me and my daughter, but she didn’t last much longer. But before she passed out, she thanked me for giving her such a great party.
